Uluru returned to the aboriginals

On the 26 of October, Uluru, also known as "Ayers Rock" and it's name were given back to it's traditional owners on the condition that it is leased back to the Federal Park Service for 99 years.  Uluru was sacred to them because it marked significant events that happened in the dreamtime. It is now jointly managed by the park services and the people of Anangu. It was listed as a World Heritage Site in 2000 and is still a popular tourist destination today.
